I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former twice world boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As both boxers participated in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
